Artist Toolkit 2 - Sculpting: Update 3

Bringing the bust home for Easter, I have been able to spend a little more time on the model. This has allowed me to improve on some of the facial details, mostly the brow and eyelids (of which he had none before). A marker has also been place for the whereabouts of his mouth and his nose shape vaguely more fitting with the 'Medic'. Overall the model has been smoothed over and the area around round the temple has been made more organic.

Artist Toolkit 2 - Info-graphic, Updated Version

Taking the criticism from the first version of the info-graphic animation I have made small changes to how the credits appear. There is also use of blur and opacity effects to create a glow to separate the credits from the newspaper.

Artist Toolkit 2 - Facial Animation: Predator, Jaw Bounce

For this toolkit class we were tasked with starting creating a fitting animation for a sound file. Alongside creating a phonemes library we also began on adding the jaw bounce to the 'Moom' model forming the basic facial animation.

Artist Toolkit 2 - Sculpting: Update 2

After having the underlying shape created more layers of clay were added to further define the shape of the head. For me this included taking into account of the jaw, brow and nose. The eyes created were also inserted into the model. The eyes will need further work to embed them properly into the head, forming eye lids.

Artist Toolkit 2 - Sculpting: Update 1

For the sculpting class we were tasked with finding a character that could be modelled in clay. For my bust I have chosen the 'Medic' from Team Fortress 2. To start we created a basic structure using wire and tinfoil that would allow clay to adhere to.
Medic turn around
After securing our metal structure in place using milliput we started to add layers to create the layers underneath the head to give the model shape. Two eyes were also created using milliput.

Premise - Texture Test

The following images show two models that have been created as a test for the style of texture and shape. While it it far from a finished and polished model it has given an experience of what is to be desired in the next rendition of the model.

Below is an image of the two models, the textured set being the second attempt. In terms of improvement for the next model the texture needs to include a light range of tones alongside the dark ones. The structure could also benefit greatly from being more clean. The amount of polygons should also be lowered to fit the style better.

In terms of the textures themselves they still require work on the hair, ears and face.

Artist Toolkit 2 - Moom Facial Animation Exercise

For our facial animation class we were tasked to capture the basic facial motions within the video shown. This included taking into account of making a 'lively' character and not one with 'dead' features, helping to sell the illusion.
